Sony has released a substantial update for the PlayStation 5 gaming console
This update, which began rolling out at the end of July, introduced a plethora of new features to PlayStation. One of the key innovations is the support for devices with HDMI and Dolby Atmos technology, such as soundbars, TVs, or home theaters. Now, PlayStation can transmit 3D Audio PS5 sound effects to such devices, creating a three-dimensional audio space, including sounds coming from above, through Atmos speakers.
Accessibility improvements have also been implemented, including the ability to use a second controller as an "assistant" for a single account, as well as the addition of tactile feedback when navigating the PS5 system menu.
In addition to the previously mentioned features, this update has brought about other innovations. PlayStation Remote Play can now be used on devices running Android TV OS 12, including Chromecast with Google TV (4K model) and the Sony Bravia XR A95L model.
It's also worth noting that additional voice commands are now available in the USA and the UK, and improvements to the PlayStation app will be rolled out in the near future, as early as this month.
