According to the information, Metal Gear Solid 4 was capable of running and functioning without issues on Xbox 360.
According to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots producer Ryan Payton, the game was successfully run on the Xbox 360 in the past, despite being exclusive to the PS3. Payton noted that there were no prior agreements stating that the game would be a Sony exclusive, especially regarding the final part of Snake's story.
Many team members at the time didn't believe it was possible to run MGS4 on the Xbox 360 and didn't want to conduct such a test since most of them were Sony fans. However, the trial run went brilliantly.
The main issue and reason the game didn't release on Microsoft consoles was the disc format. Sony had the Blu-Ray format, which had a capacity of up to 54GB, while the Xbox 360 still used DVD-ROM with a maximum capacity of 8.3GB.
Konami initially planned to release MGS4 on multiple discs simultaneously but eventually abandoned that plan. However, it remains unclear why the game was not later ported to more modern consoles.
It is possible that MGS4 will appear in the second collection of series remasters, scheduled for release this fall. Additionally, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is currently in development, and it recently appeared on Steam's page.
