The rating system in VALORANT will change in January 2021

While the players have only a general idea of how the rating system works in VALORANT, the main subtleties of its work remain hidden, and are known only to the developers. But now the Riot Games staff have shared the details of a future update to VALORANT.

The developers admitted that at this stage VALORANT is too strict with players in competitive matchmaking: losing a title is much easier than getting a higher title. With the new patch, the developers from Riot Games are planning to strengthen protection against demotion, as well as revise a number of other features and subtleties of the system.

It is worth adding a few words about the widely discussed story mode, which fans of the shooter are so eagerly awaiting. The developers have made it clear that in the short term, they do not plan to add a story mode to the game. However, they do not rule out the possibility of a story mode in the future.
