Team Griffin disbands roster
Team Griffin announced via Twitter that its League of Legends roster has officially disbanded.
The team became popular when cvMax took Team Griffin to seventh place by Challengers Korea in 2017. Since joining LCK in 2018, the team has grown in popularity, instantly capturing the League. The team finished in second place in all of their three performances at LCK. However, the young team's meteoric rise attracted a huge fan base and the fans' eyes were on Team Griffin.
However, around the same time, the team faced a string of scandals that began with the departure of the head coach following allegations of physical abuse, the lawsuits of which are still ongoing. Without their head coach, Team Griffin managed to reach only the quarterfinals of the 2019 World Championship, returning back to Korea.
2020 started badly for the team, as it was unable to qualify from the group as part of LCK Spring 2020. A few months later, at CK Summer 2020, Team Griffin also failed to prove itself, having failed to leave the group. After such performances, the disbandment of the team was a matter of time, and now Team Griffin has officially announced the disbandment of its League of Legends roster.
