Konami are restructuring their game studios
Against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting global situation, Konami decided to restructure. From February 1, three gaming divisions of the company will be disbanded in order to merge into one.
According to analyst Daniel Ahmad, thanks to this merger, Konami will be able to quickly switch and distribute developers to fast-growing market segments. Ahmad also recalled that a similar thing happened in 2015.
Previously, the studios had completely different tasks. The first dealt with games for mobile devices, consoles and PCs, while the second studio was responsible for card games. What responsibilities were assigned to the youngest and third studio is unknown.
We may soon hear more about Konami's upcoming plans. So far, the release list is not great, because it only includes Pro Evolution Soccer 2022, which is due out this year.
