NVIDIA unveils NVIDIA DLAA - a completely new way of anti-aliasing
The presentation of NVIDIA Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA) has died down - a completely new way of anti-aliasing in games. The technology was presented by representatives of Zenimax Studio, who presented NVIDIA DLAA for The Elder Scrolls Online.
According to Zenimax employees, DLAA technology works according to an algorithm similar to DLSS, that is, it uses a machine learning method to render an image. A distinctive feature of the new anti-aliasing method is the formation of an image not in a lower resolution than set in the game settings, but in the same one.
The technology is essentially DLSS minus some of the scaling, which means it will be totally focused on quality rather than performance.
There were no other technical details about how the DLAA works, since NVIDIA has not yet made an official announcement of the DLAA. At the same time, Alex Tardiff, a leading graphic engineer at Zenimax, added that it was his team who came up with the idea of converting DLSS into DLAA. He noted that the result was better than using the TAA method, but at the same time the load on the system itself increased. DLAA can only be used on NVIDIA RTX series graphics cards. It is currently unknown if this method will be present in other games.
