HUNDEN officially banned for 2 years
ESIC has officially banned HUNDEN for two years for distributing Heroic's confidential information. The former coach of the Danish team was charged with violating article 2.4.5 of the Code of Conduct.
HUNDEN will serve a sentence at all events hosted by ESIC partners as a result of a Code of Conduct violation caused by sharing confidential material from the Heroic team strategy folder ahead of IEM Cologne 2021 with the opposing team. Thus, the Dane will not be able to participate in tournaments from ESL, DreamHack, WePlay, BLAST, LVP, Nodwin, Eden, Relog, UCC, Allied, Kronoverse, Estars and 247 Leagues.
The sanction culminates in a nearly two-month investigation by the Commission, which deemed HUNDEN's public admission that he shared his team's strategies with an opponent, combined with sufficient evidence of his own to punish the coach.
Describing the progress of the investigation, ESIC stated that the team to which the confidential material was transferred was the one with which HUNDEN negotiated the transition, and the one that simultaneously participated in IEM Cologne 2021 along with Heroic. Although the ESIC report never mentions the name of the collective, it is believed that the team was Astralis, who reportedly had a 30-year-old Dane as a prime candidate to replace zonic next year.
The ban will be valid from August 25, 2021 to August 24, 2023. HUNDEN is currently planning to leave the professional scene
