The CS: GO developers announced that they have improved the protection of accounts with games made on Source. Now the theft of Steam accounts should be significantly less, since the main vulnerability has been eliminated. A representative of the Secret Cllub hacker group, who discovered it, told about the error that led users to the loss of their accounts.

On his Twitter-account, he wrote the following:

"Good news! Valve has patched a vulnerability I recently found and allowed me to disclose the details. Also, I am working on a detailed whitepaper. Stay tuned!"

On April 11, information about an account exploit appeared for the first time. 5 months before, the Secret Club had not spoken about their find. With the help of an incompletely functioning invitation system on Steam, attackers could get any details about various user accounts.
