Sergey 'lmbt' Bezhanov Parts Ways with Monte: What's Next for the Ukrainian Coach?
Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov has officially parted ways with Monte, as announced by the Ukrainian organization.
This departure leaves Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko as the sole Ukrainian player on Monte's roster, alongside four Polish players and former 9INE coach Piotr "nawrot" Nawrocki, who now serves as an assistant coach.
The team, which primarily communicates in English while DemQQ continues to learn Polish, narrowly missed qualifying for the Shanghai RMR after suffering losses to B8, ECLOT, and KOI.
Reflecting on his time with Monte, lmbt shared on Twitter: "We had an insanely bumpy road during my time at Monte. It was a rollercoaster, but I’m thankful to every player I worked with and to every staff member. I truly believe this roster will grow into what it’s capable of, and I'll find a new job soon."
The veteran coach, who previously led MOUZ and HellRaisers before the pandemic, had been Monte's head coach since January 2023, guiding them to victory at ESL Challenger Jönköping later that year. However, he was unable to be with the team when Monte made the Paris Major playoffs due to wartime regulations in Ukraine.
