AGO expands its membership to 6 people
The Polish esports organization made an interesting announcement on their Twitter account. According to the publication, the management decided to add a sixth player to their CS: GO roster. The team's rookie will be 18-year-old talent from the FPL league, Shimon 'kRaSnaL' Mrozek.
Poland's highest rated team AGO has decided to update its roster after failing to get an invitation to the Regional Major Ranking IEM Fall series. Despite the desire to make changes, the management still did not go for cardinal changes. It decided to start by signing a talented young e-sportsman, Shimon Mrozek. The 18-year-old CS: GO player managed to break into the FPL in August 2021.
The announcement of a tide of fresh blood in the ranks of AGO took place after Shimon Mrozek managed to play a couple of matches as part of the “eagles” team. Previously, Mrozek had experience playing under the ESCA tag, with which the Pole played in the ESEA Europe Advanced Division and the Polish Esports League.
Shimon called the incident the fulfillment of his dreams. In addition, he shared that his path to joining AGO turned out to be very thorny, but the result is worth the effort he spent.
In 2019, AGO became one of the very first organizations to start experimenting with more than five players on a single roster. 2 years ago, they were notable for the fact that their team consisted of 7 e-sportsmen. This move was implemented as a result of the merger of two e-sports organizations x-kom and AGO Esports into one - x-kom AGO. Then in the AGO squad, Jaroslav 'pashaBiceps' Yarzabkovsky also played, who then went on a free voyage.
After the departure of the legendary pashaBiceps from the ranks of AGO, it was decided to leave the team of six people, and in 2020 the number of players was cut down to five people altogether.
At the moment, AGO is ranked 24th in the rating of the best CS: GO teams in the world according to HLTV. The team is currently taking part in the ESEA league. The team plays in the highest echelon, namely in ESEA Europe Premier Season 38. In addition, the team participates in the Elisa Invitational Fall and Funspark ULTI 2021 Europe Regional Series 3.
As for the six-man AGO roster, the main question still remains: how will the players be used? Especially this move on the part of the management seems a little incomprehensible due to Valve's decision to impose fines on organizations using the six-player model. Recall that at the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, Team Vitality and Astralis practically "hacked the system" and invented a new way of conducting competitive activities using the sixth player. Vitality, by the way, even won the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 and received a reward of $ 225,000.
