There is information that the studio Krafton has already begun work on the sequel to the acclaimed Player's Unknown Battlegrounds. This became known thanks to the Twitter user @PlayerIGN. He stated that PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0 are in the works. While there hasn't been an official announcement from PUBG Corp yet, the user believes it will be coming soon.

The sequel is codenamed Project XTRM and is reportedly being developed for PCs, consoles and mobile devices. The game will support cross-play and cross-progression, and is also being built as a single launcher with technical differences depending on the platform.

PlayerIGN also claims that PUGB Korea in Seoul will develop PUBG 2.0. Whereas the team behind PUBG Lite will be developing PUBG Mobile 2.0. He clarified that it would make sense as PUBG Lite suddenly stopped updating.

As previously mentioned, neither PUGB Corp nor its affiliates have announced or confirmed this information from PlayerIGN.

The original PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds was released in 2017. PUBG is currently available in three versions - original, mobile and free PUBG Lite for weak PCs.
