Leaks: Resident Evil: Village Multiplayer May Get Shareware Distribution Model

The network does not stop popping up all the new details of the large Capcom data leak. This time we will talk about the multiplayer of the next Resident Evil.

It looks like Capcom intends to make their own analogue of the long-running battle royale. The studio has long been studying projects from other companies, including Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite and Apex Legends. All titles are united by shareware distribution model and genre. Based on the leaked documents, Capcom plans to develop the online part of Resident Evil in a similar way.

Also, the Japanese company plans to "link" different parts of Resident Evil, just thanks to the multiplayer in the Village. However, it is not yet clear what exactly and whether they will try to enter the already competitive battle royale genre.
