Reviving the Halo: The Latest Updates in Halo Infinite's Journey

Cet article est disponible dans les langues suivantes

343 Industries has recently rolled out an update for Season 5 of Halo Infinite, their 2021 first-person shooter game. The game had faced criticism even before its official release due to concerns about its graphics and lackluster character animations showcased in various gameplay trailers. When Halo Infinite initially launched in December 2021, only the multiplayer mode was available, leaving some players satisfied with the engaging gameplay but still frustrated by the slow progression and the absence of a single-player mode.

Now, the single-player campaign for Halo Infinite has been released and is widely regarded as one of the top solo gaming experiences on the Xbox Series X/S. However, given the franchise's storied history, gamers had exceptionally high expectations for this title. Despite this, 343 Industries has been diligently addressing various issues over the past couple of years and implementing gameplay mechanic adjustments that have garnered excitement among many players.

Compared to previous updates, the patch released on October 26, 2023, for Halo Infinite did not introduce a vast number of changes, but it was nonetheless well-received by the community. Notably, the update removed the frame rate limitation that players encountered when enabling Vsync on monitors with a refresh rate of 120Hz or higher.

This October patch also brought improvements to the stability of the Customize menus and resolved a performance drop when multiple objects or prefabs were selected in Halo Infinite's Forge Edit mode. Additionally, display issues affecting the UTIL/PRO-Tek ComNet-2020 Shoulder Pads and the TAC/SCM-P Knee Pads for the Mirage IIC Armor Core were addressed.

While many issues were addressed in this update, some remain on the list of known issues with Halo Infinite. One of the more pressing concerns for players is a problem introduced by a recent Nvidia driver update, causing extended loading times. At present, the only solution for this issue is to revert to a previous version of the graphics drivers.

The campaign of Halo Infinite unfolds in the year 2560, after the events of Halo 5: Guardians. It depicts a rebellion by Cortana and other AI against the United Nations Space Command (UNSC). Players once again assume the role of Master Chief, a UNSC supersoldier tasked with thwarting his former ally, Cortana, as she seeks to dominate the galaxy.

Halo Infinite October 2023 Patch Notes

The following changes were implemented in the October 26, 2023, patch:

  • Enabling Vsync on PCs with a refresh rate of 120Hz or higher will no longer impose a maximum frame rate restriction.
  • The UTIL/PRO-Tek ComNet-2020 Shoulder Pads and the TAC/SCM-P Knee Pads for the Mirage IIC Armor Core are now displayed correctly.
  • The ComNet and Erinyes bundles, which include these items, will be available for purchase again via the Armor Hall menu next week. If you wish to be notified when these bundles are accessible, you can submit a ticket to have a Halo Support agent reach out to you directly.
  • If you purchased either bundle while these items were displayed incorrectly, the development team will refund you the Credits you spent on the purchase. This refund will not revoke your ownership of the bundle contents. You can also submit a ticket if you want a Halo Support agent to reach out to you directly once the refund is complete.
  • Improved stability in the Customize menus, including the Armor Hall and Weapons Bench.
  • Selecting multiple objects or prefabs in Forge Edit mode now has a reduced impact on game performance.
