The final gameplay trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been released
At the Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 event, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts revealed the final trailer for the highly anticipated RPG, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game will be released on April 28th, and the trailer serves as the last teaser before the game's official launch.
For those who are huge Jedi fans and can't wait for the game to come out, you can watch a few seconds of the trailer every day for the next 18 days. But for the rest of us, the trailer gives a glimpse into Cal Kestis' struggle for survival in the underground world during the reign of the Galactic Empire. The trailer features Cal's mentor and Jedi, Cere Junda, narrating the story. It showcases mostly gameplay footage and cinematic scenes without the user interface and a few pre-rendered moments.
The trailer shows Cal battling various enemies such as Stormtroopers, armored combat walkers AT-STs, robots, and alien beasts. It also highlights breathtaking scenes of bike chases and battles with a rancor, a famous creature from the Star Wars universe. Additionally, the trailer demonstrates combat scenes with NPC.
In an interview published alongside the trailer, Stig Asmussen from Respawn talked about the gameplay in the company. Asmussen explained that players will be able to experience Cal and his companions' journey, including BD-1 and Merrin, fighting together, solving puzzles, and exploring various planets. The combat in the game includes cinematic elements such as takedowns, and players can use the assistance mechanics to call in their friends for special attacks with just one button, helping them overcome difficult situations in battle.
Asmussen also stated that the game's scale is much larger than its predecessor, which provides the opportunity to create excellent systems that allow designers and artists to develop new things. He emphasized that while the game still has boundaries, the box is bigger, and the team can do more than they could in the previous game.
