FaZe Clan announced an investment from Cox Enterprises
North American esports organization Faze Clan has announced a strategic investment from media conglomerate Cox Enterprises. According to the press release, the investment deepens the existing partnership between the two companies. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.
The relationship between the parties first began in 2019, when FaZe Clan partnered with Atlanta Esports Ventures (AEV), a joint venture between Cox Enterprises and Province, to form the Atlanta FaZe Call of Duty League franchise.
Lee Trink, CEO of FaZe Clan: “This is a huge leap forward in our partnership with Cox Enterprises and Atlanta Esports Ventures that will lead to great opportunities for us all. This investment comes at an ideal time as our brand has gone beyond esports to become a powerful platform for games and youth culture ".
Throughout 2021, FaZe Clan restructured its behind-the-scenes headquarters operations. These include invitations to Brandon Jackson as vice president of business and legal affairs and Kai Henry as chief strategic officer.
The organization has also recently struck several notable deals, including deals with the brands Totino's and HyperX, as well as limited edition gaming and esports products in collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
