Ampverse acquires Vietnamese SBTC Esports team
Esports firm Ampverse has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Vietnamese esports organization SBTC Esports. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to a press release, the acquisition will enable the organization to scale its community and expand its product line.
SBTC Esports is currently represented in two esports disciplines - League of Legends and Wild Rift. The organization also operates the SBTC Academy, which provides funding, support, and a professional esports environment for young talent across Vietnam.
The organization also claims to be one of the most active gaming and esports brands in Vietnam. SBTC Esports averaged over 80,000 live viewers during the League of Legends VCS Spring 2021 season, the highest in Vietnam, according to analyst firm Esports Charts.

Note that this transaction follows the acquisition of the Thai esports organization Bacon Time in 2019. Ampverse allegedly helped the organization secure several long-term commercial partnerships, including KFC, Foodpanda, and Doritos.
Launched in 2019, Ampverse focuses on scaling and monetizing portfolios of acquired esports teams, aiming to build influential and high-performing esports communities across Asia. The firm has already established its presence in Singapore, Thailand, India and Vietnam.
