Misfits Gaming Group Launches Women of Misfits Program

Florida-based esports and entertainment company Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) has announced the launch of a new women's advocacy program called "Women of Misfits." With an approach that will focus on the four main pillars of mentoring, development, networking, and advocacy, the program will engage speakers each month to educate those present and tell their story. The platform will be curated and led by MGG women leaders.

MGG has announced the first four speakers: Chris Evert, 18-time Grand Slam singles champion and tennis legend; GloZell Green, comedian and youtuber; Bianca Smith, the first black woman to become a professional baseball coach; Angela Ruggiero, CEO and Co-Founder of the Sports Innovation Lab, 4-time Olympic Champion and US Ice Hockey Team Gold Medalist; Maya Enista Smith, Executive Director of the Born This Way Foundation.

Live streamed on MGG's YouTube channel, each session will be moderated by speakers sharing stories that matter to them that they believe will inspire women in the gaming community.

Each core component relates to how MGG will work with the women who will become part of the program. In terms of mentoring, the women at MGG will work with other women mentors within the organization to provide guidance and career advice to help maximize potential and achieve their goals.

The program will also provide opportunities for networking between women and others in the scene. Finally, the initiative itself aims to ensure that the interests of women in the industry and those who wish to become part of it are protected.

The Women of Misfits initiative is led by Chief Development Officer Hillary Matchett, President of Media & Branding Ella Pravetz, Chief Executive Officer of Revenue Lagen Nash, President of the Misfits Agency Amy Palmer, Vice President of Communications Becca Henry, Chief Health Advisor Carolyn Rubenstein, PhD and co-founder Lori Silvers.
