PlayVS acquires GameSeta
US eSports platform developer PlayVS acquired infrastructure provider GameSeta to accelerate its growth phase and support its expansion into the Canadian market. Note that PlayVS did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
As part of this acquisition, Tavanda Masavi and Rana Taj, who founded Vancouver-based startup GameSeta in 2019, will join PlayVS and lead its Canadian divisions, including a partnership with BC School Sports, the governing body for organized school sports in British Columbia.
Along with its geographic expansion, PlayVS announced that it plans to expand beyond high schools and colleges by launching a direct-to-consumer product. PlayVS currently has an exclusive partnership with the National Federation of Associations of Public High Schools (NFHS) and is active in the college market through its partnership with Fortnite.
Founded by Delane Parnell in early 2018, PlayVS has already raised over $ 100 million in funding, making a major leap forward.
