Arteezy Steps Down from Shopify Rebellion: Considering Career Move to Europe
Artour "Arteezy" Babaev has announced his decision to step down from the Shopify Rebellion Dota 2 roster. The carry player plans to take a break and is considering a move to Europe to continue his career. He made this announcement on X.
Babaev admitted to his shortcomings with Shopify Rebellion, stating that he was not prepared to lead a team. He emphasized that he will remain with the organization as a streamer and that competing without some of his closest friends, particularly Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen, contributed to his decision to take a break.
Rumors suggest that Christian "Pakazs" Savina will temporarily replace Arteezy. Pakazs is listed with the team for its next tournament, Elite League Season 2. Additionally, Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek has returned to Shopify Rebellion for the event.
Arteezy has been a part of the Shopify Rebellion Dota project since its inception in 2022. During his time with the team, their notable achievements included a second-place finish at DreamLeague Season 21 and fourth place at the Lima Major 2023. However, in 2024, SR failed to qualify for both the Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024, leading to Arteezy missing TI for the first time in his career.
