The main particularity of this system is that all teams play in one group, and to join the play-off a team needs to get 3 wins. If a team loses 3 matches, it leaves the tournament.

Previously, all major tours were played according to GSL system. All participants were divided into 4 groups with 4 teams in each. To qualify for the following stage, a team should take the first or the second position in a group rating.

ELEAGUE Major 2017 is scheduled on January, 22 - 29 in Atlanta, USA. 16 teams will compete for $1,000,000 prize pool.
