"Today's the day that Cloud9 and myself will be parting ways. Thanks to Jack Etienne for the opportunity and the players for their hard work and time. It's truly a shame how things panned out with a lot of mitigating circumstances but plenty of positive memories, too."

From 2016 to 2020, Henry 'HenryG' Greer was known for commenting on the largest CS: GO championships, including PGL Krakow Major 2017, ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018, FACEIT Major 2018 and others, and in September last year he was retrained as a manager Cloud9.

His first serious assignment was to assemble a combat-ready team to compete with world leaders. To achieve the goal, large financial resources were attracted. HenryG brought together a team of Europeans and Americans, spending millions of dollars on them, and on the salaries of players $ 130,000 + monthly went. Despite the high costs, the team was unable to show itself in all its glory and the team has never been able to reach the final, even at the regional championships. The management decided to change the coach along with some of the players, but the desired results were not achieved.

Last month Cloud9 announced their retirement from CS: GO. The COVID-19 pandemic was named as the main reason, which prevented esports athletes from gathering at the bootcamp for fruitful training. Cloud9 representatives said they will return to the shooter discipline after the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
