Valve decided to reset the rating points of teams for using a coaching bug
Valve said that, in addition to the loss of rating points, coaches who have abused the bug that has appeared and has already been fixed may be subject to additional penalties.
At the moment, only two teams have been seen using the bug during the rating event: MiBR and Hard Legion Esports. In both cases, the bugs were used in ESL One Road to Rio 2020. In addition to the American ESL One Road to Rio, dead from the Brazilian squad was also abused in cs_summit 6.
After the rest of the people involved with the situation make a verdict, Valve will reflect on additional options for imposing sanctions on each of the trainers. In addition, the CS: GO developers may release a patch in which the action of the coach with the team will be severely limited, or may be completely removed, since Valve positioned Counter-Strike primarily as a 5x5 game, and not a competitive discipline using coaches.
Earlier, ESL and DreamHack conducted their own investigation, during which it turned out that the coaches of Hard Legion Esports, MiBR and Heroic used a bug to view at the same point from a spectator position, which gave a huge advantage in a dishonest way. The teams were disqualified from the championships and were forced to give up all the prize money earned there, and the coaches were banned for 0.5-2 years. Hard Legion after such an incident immediately terminated the contract with the coach of the roster.
