Valve Squashes Notorious Crouch-Jump Bug and Celebrates Na'Vi's Major Win with Exclusive Autograph Capsule
Valve has rolled out an update addressing the infamous "sticky collision" crouch-jump bug, alongside celebrating Natus Vincere's victory with a special Champions Autograph Capsule release.
This bug, causing players to unexpectedly stick to surfaces while attempting a crouch-jump, had been a persistent issue across various maps, notably impacting crucial gameplay moments. The A site of Anubis, where players jump up to Heaven, was a notorious spot for this glitch. During a significant match at the Major, Petr "fame" Bolyshev from Virtus.pro encountered this bug, which contributed to a lost 1v2 clutch situation. Another instance occurred outside B on Vertigo, where attempting to boost behind a wooden wall led to complications for KOI's David "dav1g" GranadoBermudo.
After initial reports and a Reddit thread on March 22 claiming difficulty in reproducing the bug, Valve has successfully rectified the issue in a recent update. This improvement aims to eliminate the frustrating collisions experienced by players.
In addition to the bug fix, the update honors Natus Vincere's triumph at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Fans can now purchase autograph stickers of all five winning team members through a special capsule in the Major Hub, commemorating their achievement.
The update also includes a fix for a threading issue that could cause frame rate hitches under high CPU load, and introduces a new policy where newly purchased or traded Counter-Strike items will not be visible in a user's Steam Inventory to others for 10 days. The full patch notes offer detailed insights into the adjustments and new features.
