The French division of Riot Games has announced the tournament series Open Tour France
Riot Games has announced a new competition cycle called the Open Tour France with a total prize pool of € 50,000.
The tournament, organized in partnership with Webedia and ZQSD (parent company of Mandatory.gg), will aim to bring together the best French players and organizations in a new official circuit, culminating in a LAN event at the end of the year. Participation in the Open Tour France does not interfere with playing in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021.
The competition is open to teams with more than three members of the French, Belgian and Swiss residency. Players must also be 16 years of age or older and rank above or equal to Platinum 1. Exceptions are made for teams present in Division 1 and 2 of the LFL - the French League of Legends - who may compete with a roster that does not comply with geographic restrictions, and also for teams that qualified for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters.
This new scheme is presented in four main stages. Two Swiss open qualifiers will take place in May and June to select the country's top 32 teams. The teams that go the farthest will get a seat in the final tournament. The last qualifying tournament will take place in October in the same format as the first two, but with only two places awarded for the LAN tournament. At the same time, the qualification does not prevent teams from participating in the next rounds.
