ESL and Intel Announce Investments in Esports Ecosystems
ESL Gaming, an esports tournament organizer and production company, has renewed its partnership with North American technology company Intel, extending the partnership for 20 years.
The new agreement will enter into force in 2022. The new partnership will result in both companies investing over $ 100 million in the esports ecosystem up until IEM Katowice 2025. According to the press release, the investment is expected to bring further innovation and product improvements for both fans and players.
In addition, all non-league CS: GO tournaments hosted by the ESL Pro Tour will be rebranded as Intel Extreme Masters.
This includes ESL One Cologne, which will now be called Intel Extreme Masters Cologne (IEM Cologne). Note that as of today, Intel and ESL have hosted over 80 IEM events over 15 seasons.
The current agreement renewal is part of Intel's 2016 partnership, which has resulted in the technology company becoming ESL's global technical partner. As a result, both brands will continue to provide technology solutions for ESL professional tournaments and events. In addition, the partnership was expanded to include the DreamHack Open and DreamHack Festival tournaments for the first time.
