ESIC found the accusations against Heroic players insufficient
ESIC decided not to ban Heroic players who were accused of complicity in using the coaching bug. Recall that in September, the Commission opened an investigation into the players of the Danish team, who, according to the evidence, knew about the use of the bug by the former coach of Heroic. During the investigation, ESIC found the accusations against Heroic players insufficient to prohibit players from participating in tournaments.
In the course of its investigation, the Commission took into account the following evidence:
- A written statement from HUNDEN stating its position.
- Screenshots of text messages and messenger conversations with various individuals associated with the team.
- Screenshots of a conversation with an anonymous person known as "Robert" around the time of receiving the first HUNDEN ban in September 2020.
- Recording of conversations and transcript of HUNDEN's correspondence with niko.
- Non-disclosure agreement (not signed by players) regarding the coaching bug incident.
However, ESIC was not able to grasp the connection between the provided evidence and the real fact of violation by Heroic players. Thus, the Commission gave the Danes the green light to participate in subsequent championships. A detailed report of the investigation can be read here.
